South Africa's Percy Tau landed his maiden Premier League assists for Brighton on Saturday, creating his side's goal in a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

In just his third Premier League start since joining the club, the Bafana Bafana star came off the bench to play just 17 minutes on Saturday.

That was all he needed to make a difference, though, and with just six minutes remaining Tau received the ball before sliding a pinpoint through for striker Danny Welbeck, who made no mistake.

That goal gave Brighton a 1-0 lead, but it was cancelled out by West Ham substitute Said Benrahma three minutes later.

Brighton remain in 17th, but are already guaranteed a fifth consecutive season in the top-flight.

West Ham, meanwhile, now look set to miss out on Champions League qualification next season.

In the hours following the final whistle, South Africans took to social media to show their support for Tau and congratulate him on what is undoubtedly a significant moment in his Premier League career.
