Cape Town - Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has confirmed that he will meet with Jeff Schlupp to discuss the Ghana international's future at the club.

Schlupp was a regular member of the Foxes' line-up during their title-winning 2015/16 season, but has struggled for game-time in the current campaign, making just one start in the Premier League and a further three appearances off the bench.

West Brom, who had multiple bids for the 24-year-old rejected in the summer, are believed to once again be interested in acquiring Schlupp's services in January, with the player himself eager to leave the King Power Stadium if he can't secure regular playing time.

Speaking ahead of Leicester's Boxing Day clash with Everton, Ranieri conceded that Schlupp had fallen down the pecking order.

"Every time (I consider him for the first-team squad)," he said. "For this reason, I leave him to play with the under-23s with other first-team players because it is important when I call on them, they must be ready to play."

Asked if he would allow Schlupp to leave the club, Ranieri replied: "We will speak."

Schlupp has spent his entire professional career with the Leicester, having joined the club's academy as an 11-year-old. The German-born player, who started out as an attacker but has most recently been used as a full-back, has gone on to make 150 appearances for the Foxes
