Cape Town - Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Kingsley Coman has revealed that he thought about signing for Manchester City, before committing to Die Roten.

The 20-year-old spent two seasons on loan at the German giants from Juventus before making the move permanent last month, in a £29.5million deal.

However, he admits he considered the Citizens before signing for Bayern but was convinced to stay in Munich after talks with the club president.

He told French television channel TF1: "I didn't hesitate in relation to Manchester City or the coach, but because of my situation.

"I'm young, I'm in a time of my life where I need to play. If I wasn't here, if it was difficult, I was ready to think about leaving.

"But I spoke to the president about the club's project, about me, and everything was sorted out."

Coman has in a short time become one of the most successful young footballers in the game having already won eleven trophies, including the league title in ligue 1, Serie A and the Bundesliga at just 19 years old.
