Cape Town - England striker Wayne Rooney is hoping to hit the high notes at the World Cup in Brazil next month, and has revealed his official FIFA 2014 World Cup playlist that he hopes will inspire him to success.

The Manchester United player posted the playlist on Twitter together with the caption: "This is my world cup album 2014 hope everyone enjoys it. Bit of a mixed bag."

The surprise playlist included some old and new music, with artists Ed Sheeran, Mumford & Sons, James Blunt and of course, Beyonce' all making an appearance. Rooney's complete playlist can be viewed on his official Twitter page, handle @WayneRooney.

Rooney, who has been working hard on his fitness, is hoping to have a more successful World Cup tournament this time around. Rooney performed poorly in both the 2006 and 2010 campaigns and has promised to make up for it in Brazil next month.
