Pep's Manchester City side will look to win their third consecutive league title this season but must take each game as it comes, and it would certainly be unwise to look passed the Hammers who have a good record against the top sides in the league.
It's the moment we've all been waiting for and theres a fantastic atmosphere at the stadium. Much is expected of this West Ham side in the new season and they face no greater task in the opening game as they face the reigning champions.

West Ham started this game very well. New signing Sebastian Haller has showed off one or two neat touches already.
No penalty! Rodri gives the ball away to Lanzini, who gets to the byline and falls to the ground after a wrestle with the Spaniard. Mike Dean waves away the appeals.
Save! Mahrez shows good close control and unleashes a low shot from outside the box, forcing Fabianski into a fine save.
Silva has space to shoot from outside the box, but his effort was pulled wide of goal.
Brilliant touch from Sterling to win a foul from Fredericks, a dangerous crossing position to the left.
City go short with David Silva, but they get it all wrong, and it rolls to Fabianski.
Goal! City lead! Mahrez plays a terrific pass through for Walker who found Jesus at the front post. The Brazilian still had much to do and finished well at the near post passed Fabianski. West Ham 0-1 Man City.
Same again in the City box as Walker centres for Jesus, but this time Balbuena is there to get a fantastic tackle in ahead of the Brazilian.

Haller attempts an Audacious over head kick but it's a quite simple save for Edersen.
Good link up play between De Bruyne and Silva before De Bruyne's shot is well saved.
5 minutes to go till the break, City are begining to dominate possession and should see out the half.
Haller receives the ball in the box but the linesman raises his flag for offside.

Zinchenko with a lofted ball from the left, Sterling gets a header up ahead of Cresswell, but it's very comfortable for Fabianski.
Goal! Sterling tucks away a one on one, after some great work from De Bruyne. The Belgium carried the ball from the half way line, picked Sterling out on the left, and the ball was slotted between the legs of Fabianski.
Goal for City again! Silva slips in Sterling on the left, and he squares for Jesus to tap home from close range!

Goal overturned! Sterling was just leaning over and his shoulder was offside. Incredibly small margins but The Hammers may just have been granted a life line. The score is 2-0.

Huge chance! It's a fine save from Ederson initially to turn away Chicharito's touch from six yards, and he then recovers to turn away Antonio's rebounded header to his right! Brilliant goalkeeping!
A lovely third for City, and Sterling has his second! Mahrez's dinked ball finds him behind the line, and he lobs Fabianski from 12 yards! VAR will check this offside...
