Kick off! Play is underway.
Pepe loses out and Sheffield look to make it count as they win their second corner of the match in just the fourth minute but Arsenal defend it.
O'Connell has to be alive as he plays a ball behind for a corner from a dangerous looking cross from Pepe with Aubameyang lurking.
Arsenal looking to play it out from the back through Leno but some good pressure forces a poor pass to Kolisinac and Sokratis has to make an important challenge to cut out the danger.
Sheffield win another corner after some poor play from Luis forces Chambers to put it behind. Good start from the home side.
Some patient build up eventually sees Stevens release a shot which went straight into McGoldrick before Luiz cleared.
Chance! Pepe starts a terrific piece of play from Arsenal and is in the box to finish the ball from Kolasinac but the summer signing duffs his shot and can't find the target.
The tempo of the game has slowed down quite substantially. Arsenal happy to sit a bit deeper and dominate more possession and Sheffield don't seem too worried about them having it at the moment.
GOAL, SHEFFIELD UNITED, MOUSSET! 1-0: They take the lead! O'Connell with the assist as he headers Norwood's cross back across the goal and Mousset reacts quickest as he taps home.
Sheffield have a big penalty shout but the referee plays on and VAR doesn't overturn it.
No penalty! This time for Arsenal as Saka goes down and there is a big shout. The referee stops play but only to award a free-kick and a yellow card for simulation. Coach Freddie Ljungberg gets a yellow as well for his reaction on the Arsenal bench.
Sheffield almost found guilty of pressing too high as Luiz tries to pick out Aubameyang who can't control it.
Arsenal responding really positive since the goal and are dominating the game well and truly as they look to respond. Sheffield clearly just looking to hang on until the break.
Kick off! Second half begins and Arsenal have made one substitution as Ceballos comes on for Willock.
HALF-TIME: SHEFFIELD UNITED 1-0 ARSENAL! The perfect half from the home side who go into the break with a 1-0 lead. Arsenal have had their chance but have just not been clinical enough.
Save! Xhaka hits a brilliant volley that looks destined to find the top right corner before Henderson flings himself to the left to make a great save.
Ceballos already looking to get involved as he finds himself in some space and tees up Xhaka whose cross was meant for Saka but was well dealt with by O'Connell.
Big chance for Sheffield as the ball is played toward Mousset who is free inside the box but he handles the ball as he tried to control it.
Decent chance from Ceballos who is picked out inside the box and his first-time volley is half blocked before falling to Henderson who is untroubled.
Shot! Sheffield with their first chance of the half as Fleck sends a rocket into the side netting from 25 yards out.
Some movement on the arsenal bench as Lacazette starts readying himself to take the field.
Save! Leno forced into a stop as Fleck has another go. The Arsenal goalkeeper spills it but manages to regather before McGoldrick managed to get there.
Change for Arsenal and its a big sign of intent as Lacazette replaces Xhaka.
Save! Henderson gets across and saves a free-kick from Pepe comfortably after McGoldrick fouled Lacazette within shooting range.
Chance! Sheffield United this time get forward with some enterprising play. With nothing on inside the box, Sharp' lays it off to Norwood who thunders a shot that veers well wide of goal.
Into the final 10 minutes here and Arsenal quickly running out of time to salvage something here.
Final substitution for the Blades who are trying to run the clock down as much as possible. and McBurnie comes on in place of Norwood following a free-kick after a foul on Sharp.
Close! Sheffield win a free-kick in the corner and Fleck swings the ball in towards McBurnie who manages to beat his defender but his header is well over.
Chance! Chambers gets a chance to shoot inside the box and his effort goes out for a corner which Sheffield manage to deal with as they continue to hang on to their slender lead.

Sheffield leaving it all on the pitch as they keep the ball as much as they can and are quick to close down Arsenal and win back possession when they lose it. The stadium is rocking.
