Chiefs should however be careful, as Galaxy will be a formidable opponent this evening, having beaten the ABSA Premiership's Golden Arrows at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in the Semi-Final.
Chiefs have failed to win any silverware all season and are favourites to dispose of Galaxy today in what has been described by some as a battle between David and Goliath.
Kaizer Chiefs have won this title 13 times in the past, while it is the first final appearance for the NFD outfit, TS Galaxy.
The winner this evening will represent South Africa in the Caf Confederation Cup next season.
Welcome to the Moses Mabhida Stadium for our live coverage of the 2019 Nedbank Cup Final between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy.
Kick-off! We are underway in the 2019 Nedbank Cup Final. We have perfect weather conditions here in Durban.
Galaxy is enjoying a fair share of the early possession and they are certainly up to the challenge at the moment.
The game is being played at a fast tempo. Can Galaxy maintain this for 90 minutes? Only time will tell.
Galaxy secure the first corner of the game following a deflection off a Chiefs player. The corner is easily cleared.
Chiefs have been pressing with more urgency over the last five minutes and they secure a free-kick in a good position. Unfortunately for them the set-piece is wasted.
Katsande and Manyama are looking very ominous when Chiefs are on the attack. Galaxy will have to keep an eye on them.
Billiat and Manyama now combine down the left and make good ground, but fortunately for Galaxy, they get possession back.
OVER! Galaxy do well, as Mbamba and Bodibe launch an attack down the left, but the final strike from Mbamba is poor and it flies over the cross-bar!. That should have been put away.
Offside! Chaine makes a promising run down the right for Galaxy, but the flag is up for offside!
It has certainly been an enterprising effort thus far from the NFD side. Can they keep it up?
We are still goalless after the first half an hour of play.
While Chiefs have enjoyed the bulk of the possession, they have failed to penetrate the Galaxy defence in the opening 34 minutes.
Galaxy secure a free-kick in a promising position after a silly foul by Ntiya-ntiya. It amounts to nothing.
SUBSTITUTION: We have a first half change for Galaxy and Ngidi is on to replace Mbamba. Is he injured?
Chiefs secure a very dangerous free-kick on the edge of the Galaxy box. Parker takes it and it deflects off a Chiefs player in the wall for a goal kick.
HALF-TIME: KAIZER CHIEFS 0-0 TS GALAXY. There is some nervousness and frustration amongst the Chiefs players, who have failed to score in the opening 45 minutes. The NFD side have come to play and have done well so far.
BLOCK! Wow How did Parker fluff that? He had an open goal after a patient build-up and somehow Aubaas blocks that final Parker strike!
We will have one minute of time added on for stoppages.
Kick-off! We are back underway in the second half.
SUBSTITUTION: We had a change at the break for Chiefs. Andrianarimanana is off and has been replaced by Maluleka.
Chiefs have started the second half with a bang and are almost through after Manyama makes his way into the penalty area, but again the final shot flies over the cross-bar.
Galaxy secure a free-kick after a rather cynical foul by Manyama. They go directly for goal, but the effort is poor and will not bother the keeper.
YELLOW! This time Manyama does not get away with his dangerous foul and is rightfully booked! Galaxy have another promising set-piece, Sadly again it amounts to nothing.
WIDE! A promising Galaxy counter-attack amounts to nothing, as Ngidi shoots from the edge of the area instead of passing it to a team mate. Another opportunity wasted!
Parker fires a shot at goal for Chiefs and it is deflected for another corner. Parker takes it, but Galaxy clear.
SUBSTITUTION: Galaxy make another change and Lepasa is on to replace Chaine.
The possession stakes have evened up now. Chiefs have had 51% of the ball versus the 49% to Galaxy.
SUBSTITUTION: Galaxy now bring on Phungwayo to replace Nyama, while Chiefs bring on Zuma to replace Manyama.
YELLOW! We have a stoppage after a nasty collision between Bodibe and Ntiya-ntiya. The referee feels that it the fault of Ntiya-ntiya and he has been booked.
Galaxy have made all their substitutions, as Bodibe is off for a head injury assessment. They may have to finish this game with 10 men. Will he be fit to continue?
YELLOW! . Phungwayo has been booked for a cynical foul on a Chiefs player. He deserved that! Bodibe is back for now and looks very confused.
Can either team come up with something special to wrestle this away from the opposition?
TARGET MISSED! Chiefs secure a corner and Parker sends it into the area, only for Katsande's first touch to miss the target. That could have been his glory moment!
Can either team snatch this away? The frustration is building in the Chiefs camp.
PENALTY TO TS GALAXY! Moleke and Hadebe blocks a Galaxy defender in the penalty area and prevents him from getting to the ball. The referee points to the spot!
GOAL, TS GALAXY, LEPASA! (0-1). Lepasa converts the penalty and we could have history on the cards here. What a great penalty!
YELLOW! The Galaxy keeper Mpakumpaku has been booked for time wasting.
FULL-TIME: KAIZER CHIEFS 0-1 TS GALAXY. We have history here, as TS Galaxy become the first lower tier team to win the National Cup Competition. They have conquered Kaizer Chiefs and again David has triumphed over Goliath!
The Chiefs fans are still in shock!
Thank you for joining us. Good Night!
