Manchester City are second on the table and seven points behind the leaders Liverpool, who beat Crystal Palace 4-3 at Anfield yesterday. A win for City today will reduce that gap.
They will be particularly weary of Manchester City's Sergio Agüero, who has scored six goals in his last three games against them.
It will be a dauting task for the hosts, who have not won a home league game against City since 1988. They were however also one of only two teams who managed to keep a clean sheet against City in the league last season.
Huddersfield will have to dig deep after the departure earlier this week of their manager David Wagner. The interim-manager Mark Hudson has indicated that he will approach his tenure one gamea t a game and his focus this week is Manchester City only.

A good calm start for the Huddersfield keeper, as he clears the first attempt from Ilkay Gündogan. That was a confident take.
CLOSE! Thankfully for Huddersfield, Aguero loses his balance in the box and his shot hits the side-netting.
It has been all City in the opening minutes and somehow Huddersfield have kept them at bay - For now!

The Huddersfield midfield have looked stretched at the best of times thus far.
NO PENALTY! Sterling is down in the penalty area after a lovely pass from De Bruyne and the referee is not interested. Clever play by Sterling looking for the penalty and he is not happy. A stroke of luck for Kongolo and Huddersfield after that challenge.
A disappointing end to a great Huddersfield build-up ends with Bacuna being dispossessed by Otamendi.
GOAL, MANCHESTER CITY, DANILO! (OWN GOAL?)
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY. City build again and Danilo's shot from the edge of the penalty area is deflected after a header by Schindler and finds the back of the net. That first goal was always coming. That may be changed to an own goal.
City secure a corner and really should have scored again. Otamendi makes the initial block, but Fernandinho who is un-marked just cannot head it home.
Fernandinho has been instrumental in City's dominance in midfield thus far.

Mbenza takes the set-piece, but Otamendi clears initially and the subsequent shot at goal from Kongolo is also cleared by Ederson.

One would have expected at least three City goals by now, but all credit to Huddersfield thus far.
City secure a set-piece in a good position and Gundogan's attempt is punched away by the keeper Jonas Lössl.
Fernandinho sends a lofted pass into the box and Gundogan gets there, but just cannot find the target. He secures a corner..
YELLOW! Huddersfield's Hogg is booked after a harsh tackle on Fernandinho.
HALF-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY. City lead by a goal at the break, but Huddersfield will feel that they are still in this game. City have dominated and somehow the hosts have kept them to only one goal for now.

GOAL, MANCHESTER CITY, STERLING!
GOAL, MANCHESTER CITY, SANE!
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-2 MANCHESTER CITY. City now have a comfort. A probing patient build-up end with a cross from Sane headed in at pace by a diving Sterling. A Brilliant goal but he may just have been offside.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY. They are cruising now. Danilo is involved again and Aguero heads it back to Sane inside the penalty area, who finishes well.
SUBSTITUTION: Fernandinho on a booking has been replaced by David Silva for City.
SUBSTITUTION: Huddersfield also make a change and Diakhaby has been replaced by Mounie.

FULL-TIME: HUDDERSFIELD TOWN 0-3 MANCHESTER CITY. As expected City cruise home for maximum points. The hosts did well to keep City at bay in the first half and a last minute miss by Mounie in front of an open goal just summed up the day and their season.
We will have three minutes of time added on for stoppages.
