Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia is adamant that Bongokuhle Hlongwane is not leaving the DStv Premiership club.

A number of South African top-flight clubs are reported to be interested in signing the 20-year-old striker.

Hlongwane made a huge impact in his first season for the Team of Choice and rounded off his Bafana appearance in a 3-2 friendly with Uganda this week with an important goal.

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Kadodia exclaimed: "No, I’m in the dark about that (reported interest from Pirates in Hlongwane).

"I don't know, nobody has said that he is interested in him, but the player is not for sale. He is not for sale; do you understand that English?"
