Cape Town - Baroka FC utility man James Bell says the achievements of last season proves why the promoted PSL side are not in it to make up the numbers.

Bell, who recently joined last seasons' Nedbank Cup semi-finalists from Moroka Swallows, feels his ambitious side will continue to defy all odds as they did in their previous campaign.

"Yes, I think Baroka can achieve great things next season, I can only talk about what I've seen; they won the National First Division and had a good run in the Nedbank Cup so yes the team is very ambitious," he told Goal.com website.

The former Mpumalanga Black Aces man, who is comfortable in advanced forward positions and in midfield, feels the decision to join Bakgaga was one that will inspire his career to new heights.

"Everyone at Baroka talks a good game, but they have backed it up thus far so I have to trust what the team does and what I have seen them do," he added.

"I think the team can take the next step and I just think the way the chairman treats us, and the way the technical team treats us - giving us confidence - I believe we can achieve what people think we can't achieve in the PSL.

"The type of football that they play attracted me to the club, the way they carry themselves, they express themselves, the coach gives us freedom and that is why I came here.

"Personally, I would like to start 20-25 games and maybe go for a good Cup run, winning a cup would be great for me personally," he concluded.
