Cape Town - Cape Town City head coach Benni McCarthy declared the club may still sign more players, and says there's a possibility of bringing in recruits from overseas.

The Mother City team have already signed Ayanda Patosi, the Bafana international who returned from Belgium club Lokeren to the PSL.

Other new arrivals this season include Teko Modise, Jeitoso, Taariq Fielies, Lyle Lakay and Zimbabwean goalkeeper Tatenda Mkuruva.

But speaking after City's 1-0 win over Polokwane City in an MTN8 quarter-final clash on Saturday, McCarthy said additional players could still be brought in.

"I've got my eye on some (players), depends if we can get them," the former Bafana Bafana striker said.

"This is Cape Town City, they (players) want to come from overseas to South Africa. There might be a possibility, but we will see, I will find out leading up to the Wits game if it is possible."

While backing his main marksman, Lehlohonolo Majoro, who missed several chances against Rise and Shine, McCarthy hinted that he may be tempted to bring in additional firepower, although he says there is no desperation on his part.

"We've just signed a new contract with SportPesa, so hopefully we can invest on buffing up the squad up front but I am pretty happy with Major, [on Saturday it] was just one of those occasions where it didn't go for him.

"I see a little bit of myself in Major, he has a wealth of experience and, on his day, he can finish off any team.

"And, obviously, Judas (Moseamedi) is not too far off from coming back from injury so, for me, it isn't a panic."
