Mamelodi Sundowns are looking to sign Moroka Swallows defender Njabulo Ngcobo, who happens to be a target of Kaizer Chiefs.

According to a club source, the 27-year-old defender, who has been on the radar for Amakhosi since the start of the year, is now being considered by Sundowns.

Downs met with a Swallows official last week in a bid to get the defender to join them for the upcoming season.

"It all looked like Ngcobo was joining Chiefs. But Sundowns are now preparing a mouth-watering offer. There has been official contact between Sundowns and Swallows," the source told KickOff.

"Sundowns are ready to break the bank for Ngcobo whilst Kaizer Chiefs are offering cash plus players as part of a swap deal."

Ngcobo had a glittering debut season in South Africa's top-flight as he helped guide Swallows to a sixth-place finish.

He is among at least three other star players - Kgaogelo Sekgota, Sifiso Hlanti and Ruzaigh Gamilidien - at Swallows, who are said to be touted by big-name Premiership clubs.
