Swallows FC have snapped up former Bidvest Wits left-back Sifiso Hlanti.

The 31-year-old was training with Kaizer Chiefs following the dismantling of the Clever Boys.

He was hoping to sign for Amakhosi but their FIFA ban against signing new players was upheld last week.

Newly promoted Swallows have now confirmed the signing of the Bafana international.

Fellow former Wits teammates Brandon Petersen and Phathutshedzo Nange were left in the same situation at Chiefs but have yet to find new employers.

A brief statement from Swallows CEO David Mogashoa on his official Twitter account read: "Welcome to the Birds Nest Hlanthi."
