Pretoria - Ahead of the much anticipated 2016/17 Absa Premiership season, Mamelodi Sundowns winger Keagan Dolly insisted that it will not be easy to face perennial rivals, SuperSport United, in the MTN8 quarter-final next week.

The Brazilians and Matsatsantsa will square-off in the Wafa-Wafa tournament at the Loftus stadium on Sunday, August 28.

Dolly, 23, said that despite anticipating a tough mountain to climb, the Brazilians will be ready to match United's pace, and will be motivated by their tremendous exploits in the CAF Champions league.

“It’s going to be the first game of the season and it will be a tough game,” said Dolly.

“It’s not going to be an easy game at all for us but I think we are quite ready considering all games we have played in the off-season.

“With the champions’ league games, I definitely think that we’ll be well prepared for them.”

Meanwhile SuperSport United skipper Dean Furman believes that his teammates will be more motivated by their Nedbank Cup triumph of last season heading into the new campaign.

United defeated Orlando Pirates 3-2 to claim the Ke Yona competition in May, but Furman hinted that they will be hoping to turn the tables around against Sundowns considering that they failed to beat their neighbours in the last campaign.

“Winning the Nedbank cup trophy gave us a taste of success last season,” remarks Furman.

“And it’s something we have learned a lot from and we want a lot more of that next season.

“We have made some excellent signings in the off-season and the squad have come together very well.

“We know we’ll be against the league champions and it won’t be an easy game for us.

“They had a lot of success against us last season and we hope to turn things around.

“There’ll be no better time than starting a season against them in an MTN8.”
