Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Hlompho Kekana says the side's "balanced state of mind" has been key to their achievements so far this season.

The Brazilians are not only the Telkom Knockout champions, they also sit atop the Premiership standings thanks to Saturday's 2-0 win over Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.

That victory left Sundowns one point clear of second-placed Bidvest Wits at the half-way stage of the season, while extending their unbeaten run to 15 games in all competitions, leaving Kekana thrilled with the team's approach to the campaign so far.

"Three points (from the SuperSport United game) was very vital for us to keep going," said goal scorer and man of the match Kekana.

"I think the spirit is good. We have a balanced state of mind. We have the same goal and that is to win silverware.

"I'm happy as a player and happy to keep winning."
