Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates winger Stanton Fredericks has advised Kermit Erasmus to stay with the Soweto giants.

Media speculation linked Erasmus with a move away from the Sea Robbers to the big spending Mamelodi Sundowns.

With the striker in the last year of his contract at Orlando Stadium, Fredericks wants him to build a legacy at the Buccaneers.

"I don't think he should go to Sundowns. I mean, he is at a great team with talented players around him. It doesn't make sense to me," Fredericks told Goal website.

"He has formed a very dangerous partnership with Gabuza. He and Gabuza will be important to Pirates' league chances this season.

"For me, if he does move it is going to be a money move. Only big money will make him leave the club."
