Cape Town - Former Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic was on Monday sacked by Egyptian giants Zamalek after just 137 days in charge.

According to reports out of Egypt, the Serbian has been given his marching orders following an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to TP Mazembe in their opening Group A fixture of the CAF Champions league.

Pressure had been mounting on the former Buccaneers tactician after a shock 2-1 defeat to ENNPI in the Egyptian Premier League with his side dropping to fifth in the standings.

Following his sudden departure from the Absa Premiership, Sredovic started brightly at his new club and lifted the Egypt Cup after a convincing 3-0 win over Pyramids FC in August.

"Micho" managed Zamalek for 12 games in all competitions, winning seven, losing four and drawing one to boast a winning percentage of 58.3% in the 2019/20 campaign.

In comparison, his replacement at Orlando Pirates, Rulani Mokwena, has overseen 14 games, winning four, losing five and drawing five games with a winning percentage of 28.5%.
