Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt says he "can only pick what he sees" when explaining his reasons for Siphelele Ntshangase not getting a lot of game time.
The talented playmaker has struggled to break into the Amakhosi first team and has made just six appearances over the last two seasons.
And Hunt insists he won't be giving any players preferential treatment and that a place in the team comes from impressing in training.
"I can only pick what I see, and everybody needs to keep working hard – the ones that are in and the ones that are out, and hopefully force the hand," said the Amakhosi mentor.
“Everybody, since I’ve been here, has been given a chance, Ntshangase included.
"We have the responsibility to pick the best 11 of players who suit each other. But everybody’s been given a chance if you look at the team sheets since I’ve been here."
Hunt has opted for Njabulo Blom and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo over Ntshangase in midfield this season.
