Gavin Hunt says fans must be careful not to put unrealistic expectations on talented young Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.
The 20-year-old is one of a number of up and coming Amakhosi stars that includes Njabulo Blom, Happy Mashiane and Siyabonga Ngezana.
Hunt has been forced to utilise his younger players as a result of their transfer ban, and they are yet to disappoint.
Speaking to KickOff, the Chiefs boss explained: "I won't say much to him, but if he drops below the standard then he won't play, and he knows. But every young player will go through that, ups and downs.
"What he does off the ball is the most important thing. I mean he's got so much ability, the boy, he could have scored and had two or three chances in the last couple of games as well.
"So, that's the next step that he's got to take, but also what he's got to do is be better with the ball, and those are things he's got to have in him.
"I can only give him the platform, show him, explain to him [what to do] and coach him, but it's up to the boy [to come to the fore].
"What we mustn't do, and we do too much in South Africa, is they have one good game and then we blow them up. We've got to keep his feet on the ground and really demand more from him, which I think he's got."
