Cape Town - Platinum Stars coach Clinton Larsen believes that the PSL title race is still open for the taking due to inconsistency in results.

Dikwena are currently plying sixth position on the log standings and remain one of the teams to look out for in the title race.

However, Larsen admits that onlookers should not label the Premiership side as dark horses.

“I wouldn't call us 'dark horses', I think anybody up until 8th, 9th position - any of those teams that goes on a decent run of form - could propel themselves to the top of the league,” said Larsen said as quoted by KickOff.

“I think there's been a lot of inconsistency in results from most of the teams, hence (the title race) is so open at the moment.

“It's difficult to say who's going to be there at the end, but we're hoping for a little bit more consistency in the second round.”

Stars face Orlando Pirates on Wednesday, February 8 as the Premiership returns from an extended festive season break.

Kick off is at 19:30.
