Kaizer Chiefs legend Jabu Mahlangu was critical of the players' efforts in the 2-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi finals on Sunday.
Amakhosi went into the second leg of the semi final trailing by 3-0 and went on to lose 2-0 at FNB Stadium for a 5-0 aggregate defeat to their bitter Soweto rivals.
Mahlangu, previously known as Pule, was left unimpressed by what he saw from the Chiefs squad.
"There is a lot of work to be done at Kaizer Chiefs," Mahlangu said while working as an analyst on SuperSport TV.
"There is no motivation. There was no hunger to try and challenge Orlando Pirates pound for pound.”
Fellow analyst, Dikgang Mabalane echoed his sentiments, adding: "Morale is not at the level where it's supposed to be. You can even see the body language of the players – [Lebogang] Manyama, [Khama] Billiat.
"They are trying yes, but again it's not showing in the game."
