Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali has been granted bail after being charged for alleged domestic violence and damage to property on Monday morning.

According to Soccer Laduma website, Gauteng Provincial spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS), Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, revealed that the investigation is ongoing despite being granted bail at an undisclosed fee.

The troubled star was present at a bail hearing on Tuesday following the events which reportedly took place at his family home in Pretoria.

Jali is said to have developed a drinking problem and it is having a severe impact on both his professional career and personal life.

The news comes just days after his man-of-the-match display for the Brazilians against Chippa United on Saturday.

According to reports, Jali was drunk and disorderly in the early hours of Monday morning and was implicated in an incident involving his wife at his home in Pretoria.

Nonetheless, the 28-year-old has been released on bail for an undisclosed fee though it remains unclear if and when he will return to training at Chloorkop.

Sundowns are yet to issue a public statement on the issue.
