Cape Town - Itumeleng Khune was left frustrated after Kaizer Chiefs suffered their fourth consecutive Premiership defeat at the hands of Jomo Cosmos at FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.

Amakhosi dominated the match throughout the 90 minutes and deserved more but could not break down Cosmos' solid defence, before the visiting side grabbed a late winner thanks to Mxolisi Macuphu's thunderbolt from outside the box in the 85th minute to secure a 1-0 win for Ezenkosi.

Khune, who had little to do on the night as Cosmos stayed behind and never really bothered to charge forward, admitted that the chances they created and never took came back to haunt them.

"Football is a very cruel game. We play the entire 90 minutes, we create chances, we don't take them. They get one and they score, it's sad things are not going well for us at the moment," Khune told Supersport.

Chiefs fans voiced their frustrations toward the coach at the end of the game, as they shouted that Steve Komphela must fall and threw bottles onto the field.

However, the Bafana Bafana goalkeeper believes the responsibility should be shouldered by everyone involved in the team, not only the coach.

"We all have to take the responsibility, we put ourselves in this situation and we have to get ourselves out of it," he insisted.

"Yes. fans will shout the coach must go, they cannot say all the players must go at once because there won't be Kaizer Chiefs without the players.

"It's about time we come to the party as players and start to protect our South African coach because he is one of the best we have in the country and he is coaching the best team in the country.

"It's about time we as players apply ourselves in our next matches and play for the coach."
