Cape Town - The threat of legal action from Kaizer Chiefs is not deterring Itumeleng Khune from continuing to promote a product he was reportedly not authorised by the club to endorse.

According to a recent Sunday World report, Khune breached his contract of employment with Chiefs by becoming a brand ambassador for Danup, a new yoghurt drink produced by giant dairy company Danone.

A source at the club told the publication, "The bosses feel Khune is ungrateful, taking into account that they gave him a good contract even after all his transfer issues last year."

Furthermore, Amakhosi's management are said to be considering suing the goalkeeper for not honouring the terms of his agreement with the club.

However, the Bafana Bafana international seems undeterred by potential legal action and has continued to promote the 'delicious multigrain yoghurt blended drink' on social media.

He tweeted recently at an event promoting the product: "The other day doing what I do best off the pitch. Danup South Africa."

It's unclear at this stage what steps Chiefs will take against Khune legally, although Amakhosi spokesperson Vina Maphosa told the publication, "the club is aware and is dealing with the matter."

Khune is currently with Bafana Bafana preparing for the 2018 Soccer World Cup clash against Senegal on Saturday (kick off is at 15:00)
