Cape Town - Ayabulela Konqobe is hoping to secure a Premiership contract this season, with both AmaZulu and Highlands Park reportedly vying for his services.

The 22-year-old was last with Chippa United and also spent time on trial with Kaizer Chiefs while being linked with Black Leopards.

Konqobe has been reportedly training with the Pride of the North, while Usuthu Team manager Qedi Dlamini was unable to confirm a return for the player who had previously spent time with the Durban-based side.

After leaving AmaZulu, Konqobe joined Thanda Royal Zulu, where he helped them win promotion to the Absa Premiership, ahead of his spell with Chippa at the start of last season.

Dlamini told IOL website: "He is a top talent. I think every club would love to have a player of his calibre.

"We've spoken about him before. The last time I chatted to him was two weeks ago. He was in Pretoria, where he was studying.

"If an opportunity to bring him back arrives, we will love to take it, but he is not in Durban as we speak. Let us wait and see what will happen."
