Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi admits that he is not thinking about the Nedbank quarter final clash against Orlando Pirates.

The Brazilians earned that fixture after seeing off Polokwane City 4-0 on Wednesday at Loftus Versfeld courtesy of goals from Peter Shalulile, Lebohang Maboe, Lesedi Kapinga and Andile Jali.

The Tshwane giants are expected to take on the Buccaneers next month only as both sides have CAF commitments to oversee in the coming weeks.

Speaking to SuperSport TV during his post-match interview, Mngqithi is only thinking about Sundowns’ next match which is a league encounter against Stellenbosch.

“I do not even want to focus on the Pirates game at this stage,” Mngqithi said.

“Our main focus at this stage is on our game against Stellenbosch because we have to take each game as it comes (and) not think about other bigger games that are coming and end up not collecting points where you have to collect points.

“Our target at this stage is to try and do the best you can and collect maximum points in Cape Town, it’s always one of those banana skins games. We’ll do the best we can, and we are confident the team can deliver.”

Sundowns face Stellenbosch on Saturday with the encounter set to start at 15:00.
