Cape Town - New Platinum Stars midfielder Lehlogonolo Masalesa has explained that he decided to join the club, after receiving a good offer and because of his Bafana Bafana aspirations.

After leaving Orlando Pirates to join Greek top-flight side Larissa, the player spent the last six months at the club and helped them avoid relegation.

However, he reportedly could not agree terms on a new deal and thus decided to return to South Africa to sign for Dinaledi. The 25-year-old penned a three-year deal with the Peter Butler-coached outfit.

"I got a good offer from Stars that I couldn't refuse and I think it's a good move for me. I have been welcomed well by the club and they did their utmost to convince me to come here," Masalesa told the SowetanLIVE website.

"So I'm here and I'm looking forward to the future. I know that they expect a lot from me as a club and my contract speaks for itself. I would really like to hit the ground running."

"I will love to be a part of the Bafana team going forward, especially under a coach like Stuart.

"I've never doubted my ability and even when I went abroad, I didn't struggle to make an impact within a short space of time."
