Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has thanked the club's management for providing him with suitable reinforcements ahead of the Absa Premiership 2018/19 season.

The Buccaneers finished second to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership last term, qualifying for the CAF Champions League.

Following on from this, they wasted no time in signing Brilliant Khuzwayo, Vincent Pule, Ben Motshwari, Meshack Maphangule, Asavela Mbekile, Linda Mntambo, Abel Mabaso, Paseka Mako and Kudakwashe Mahachi.

"I need to give credit to the management for taking care of everything that happened to us last season after our report. They have done a tremendous job in the off-season to strengthen the team," 'Micho' was quoted as saying by the Citizen.

"I am very satisfied. And all we planned practically in the last four weeks that we have gone through, I think we have succeeded."

The Serbian took over as coach a year ago with the club in crisis following a nightmare 2016/17 campaign and the resignation of Kjell Jonevret.

Micho had to dive straight into competitive action at the time, but this year he has been able to preside over what he feels has been a successful pre-season.

"We are in the last part of preparing for the Premiership season, we are happy and satisfied and just need to polish our man management, partnerships and triangulation. That is our target for the next few days," he said.

"This is my first pre-season working with (assistant) coach Rulani (Mokwena) and everything has gone well. But instead of thinking of what happened before, here we are with a few days to go to polish the team."

Pirates will kick off their season against Highlands Park on Saturday.
