Cape Town - Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango says he is returning to his best form, after earlier falling out with the club over a reported move to Orlando Pirates.

Last March the player was reportedly suspended by Rise and Shine after he made comments in the media stating that the Sea Robbers wanted to sign him, and he was keen to depart.

However, no deal materialised and the 29-year-old has since returned to the club's set-up, where he had made good progress during the side's pre-season preparations.

"It is a relief that now I am in good terms with the club. My focus is on helping the team do well in the new season," he told the SowetanLIVE website.

"After all the things I went through last season (referring to his suspension) there are things in life that make you grow as a person.

"I have learnt my lesson. That situation made me stronger than before. We have played four friendly matches against Pirates, (Bidvest) Wits, Witbank Spurs and Platinum Stars.

"In all those games I scored and that is a good sign that I will have a good season. In 2016, I scored many goals because I had a wonderful pre-season."
