Cape Town - Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Zane Moosa believes the club lost the Premiership title as a result of too many draws and inconsistent home form.

It appears Moosa was commenting on the Brazilians' habit of not winning games they normally would have potentially due to tired legs, after their exertions in winning the CAF Champions League.

The former South Africa international, who starred for 'Downs between 1989 and 1997, told Soccer Laduma website: "Look, Sundowns have scored the most goals and they have conceded the least.

"I think if they look back they will probably look at the home form, there were games that they drew when they should have won, games like Platinum Stars, Celtic, Baroka.

"Although, they lost against Cape Town City, I think the draws at home were games that they normally win and I think that's where they slipped up.

"If you look at their home form last season, I think that they won most of their games and this season they lost more games than usual."

Meanwhile, Sundowns are back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they take on AS Vita Club in CAF Champions League Group C clash.

Kick off is at 15:30.
