Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has admitted that the departure of Khama Billiat and Percy Tau has destabilised his side ahead of the new season.

Billiat joined Kaizer Chiefs following the expiry of his contract with the Brazilians while Tau last week Friday sealed a big money move to Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League.

However, the Brazilians were able to cope without the two players over the weekend beating Chiefs 2-1 to win the Shell Helix Cup.

Jeremy Brockie put Sundowns ahead with his first goal for the club and with Themba Zwane scoring the second to clinch the pre-season tournament.

"Two important players, our number nine and ten and were scoring goals. That has destabilised our team to be honest at the moment," Mosimane told the SABC.

"Because we are yet to say this and that will play in that position. Those guys have been with us for more than five years.

"But that does not make an excuse. Our supporters will also understand that we have lost two influential players and we cannot fix that in a day or two. It will take time to replace those guys."

Mosimane has since called on other players in his squad to raise their hands and fill the void that has been left by the two attacking stars.

Added Mosimane: "People have to raise their hands. Somebody must say, I'm taking that position of Khama and Percy. They have the ability why not.

"We have players that can do that, but must raise their hands. They must do it.

"It's an opportunity for those that have been here and did not play. Let's see if they will take the opportunity."
