Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer on Thursday said the Buccaneers are confident in competing against any opposition as they enter the knockout stages of the Nedbank Cup away to Maritzburg United.
Zinnbauer will face off against fellow German tactician, Ernst Middendorp when the two sides clash in a Round of 16 Nedbank Cup tie at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
The 50-year-old said that while his side are finding it difficult to find some consistency they remained confident in their ability to go up against any opposition.
"We remain confident," Zinnbauer said ahead of Saturday's clash. We have the self-belief, the squad and the quality of players and we're progressing.
"Like in the Nedbank Cup now we also did well in the MTN8 where we kept advancing to the latter rounds and did well in that competition where no one trusted us to win it.
"We have a title now already so now again we'll try to do our best and also have good players in our squad and the self-confidence in the team is there.
"We have a good structure and are producing good performances, especially in the first-half of our last fixture against Cape Town City.
"Then we improved in the CAF Champions League two legs and now we're focusing on this competition and we have to secure our passage to the next round.
"We have to win the game on Saturday and then we will look forward to the next round and which opponent we'll draw and then we'll see what happens."
Kick-off is at 18:00.
