Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele say the club will look to make a positive start to the group stages of their CAF Champions League campaign.
Amakhosi take on Guinean football side Horoya AC in their first Group C encounter, at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.
They have struggled in the DStv Premiership at times this season but progressed in the CAF competition with some solid performances.
Following on from their 1-1 draw with SuperSport United in the league last time out, the Chiefs' defender has called on his teammates to dig deep for another good showing.
He told the club's website: "The match against SuperSport was good especially coming from a loss against AmaZulu. We had to fight back, and I think the guys played well. The only thing we did not do right was finish the chances we created on the day.
"The DStv Premiership games are faster whereas in the Champions League games are more physical and tactical. Most teams rely on set pieces so it’s going to be an interesting match."
Mphahlele added: "A positive start to the competition against Horoya is what is needed for us as Chiefs to have a long stay in the competition.
"We are playing at home for the first game of the group stages and we are looking forward to the it. It's no secret that we want the three points.
"We want to start well as it will give us confidence and we want to progress to the knockout stages."
