Cape Town - Eleazar Rodgers admits he is excited to play Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday evening as it brings the best out of him and his team-mates.

Platinum Stars host the defending Premiership champions at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and will be confident of getting a result with the former Santos striker in their starting line-up.

Since his days playing for the Peoples Team, Rodgers has broken Chiefs supporters' hearts with important goals, most recently a late brace seven weeks ago that stole the victory for Dikwena at the Cape Town Stadium.

"I think every season I score against them. As a player you want to prove that you can be where they are. We have good players and the occasion just brings the best out of us," the 31-year old told The Sowetan.

"We beat them 2-1 and they obviously want to beat us now. [But] we won't make it easy for them.

"We have to exploit the weaknesses in their defence. We want to stay in the position we are in [fifth] or move higher on the table."

Since joining the Rustenberg outfit from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2014, Rodgers has scored 13 goals and registered seven assists in the 43 games he's featured in.
