Cape Town - Royal Eagles coach Sazi Ngubane has warned Maritzburg United to expect a surprise when the teams meet in their promotion/relegation playoff clash on Sunday.

Eagles, who came second in the regular National First Division (NFD) season, kicked off the playoffs with a 1-0 victory over TTM on Wednesday and are now geared up to take on their KZN neighbours, who ended 15th in the Absa Premiership.

Ngubane admits the standard of the PSL and NFD is different but will be looking to his players to rise to the challenge.

The Eagles mentor said: "It won't be easy to play against Maritzburg United, they come from the PSL which is totally different to where we are competing.

"But they must not come with that mentality because we will surprise them. We will prepare well for them, come Sunday we will be ready."

The game will take place at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
