Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas says he doesn't have any sleepless nights over his goalkeeping department because he is spoilt for choice.

The Italian mentor recently benched first-choice goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and handed Virgil Vries a rare run-out, as Amakhosi clinched a penalty win over Black Leopards in the Telkom Knockout.

Young Bruce Mvuma was also thrown in the deep end earlier this season after the two experienced goalkeepers were side-lined with injuries and was also impressive in the recent Macufe Cup.

“It's a normal rotation because, yes, 'Itu' is our number one and he's also Bafana's number one," Solinas said, as quoted by KickOff website.

“But you know we'll soon start the (CAF Confederation Cup) campaign in Africa; we're playing in the Premiership; we play in the cups, so sometimes it's also good to rest the goalkeeper.

“At Juventus, Buffon also used to rest, so why not Itu? But, why (the change against Leopards)? Because we have two very good international goalkeepers.

“I watched Bafana, both at home and in Seychelles, and Itu performed outstanding. I also watched the games of Namibia and Vries performed very well."

Meanwhile, Amakhosi will take on Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
