As Premier Soccer League (PSL) fans savour the thrilling finish to the season from the sanctuary of their sofas, it wasn't lost on SuperSport CEO Gideon Khobane how fortunate the country was to have football return to play.

The other top sports in the country, rugby and cricket, are still in limbo, with the former only just getting its licence for contactless training earlier this month, while the latter's Proteas Women's England tour was cancelled after the government prohibited outbound travel.

Football got government's rub of the green and, as we speak, a thrilling photo-finish is on the cards between log leaders Kaizer Chiefs and hot-pursuers Mamelodi Sundowns.
