Swallows FC continued their unbeaten start to the DStv Premiership season after playing out a goalless draw against Amazulu at the Dobsonville stadium on Sunday.

The point sees the Soweto side move up to third place in standings with them now having not lost in 15 league outings while Usuthu remain seventh.

it was Amazulu who had the first genuine effort on goal but Lehlohonolo Majoro was denied by Njabulo Ngcobo, the defender making an excellent block.

Lebohang Mokoena had an opportunity for the home team but the veteran headed his effort over the bar.

There was little to separate the teams in the first half with no clear-cut chances created.

Mbongeni Gumede almost gave Usuthu the lead midway through the second half but he was denied by Swallows shot stopper Thela Ngobeni.

In the end though no team could break the deadlock with Amazulu probably the happier of the teams to take a point.
