South African glamour club Kaizer Chiefs and German coach Ernst Middendorp parted ways on Wednesday, just four days after the Amakhosi had failed in their bid to land a first league title since the 2014/2015 season.

Naturally, Twitter went into overdrive at just after 17:00 when his sacking was annouced over social media and the news quickly went to the number one spot in trending topics on the platform.
