Cape Town - Polokwane City coach Josef Vukusic wants his side to achieve the 50 point mark in the 2018/19 season by winning their final two Absa Premiership matches.

City have broken the record of 43 points they set in the 2016/17 campaign under Luc Eymael after their most recent 2-0 victory over Highlands Park.

They can move on to 50 points if they secure wins in their final two games against Chippa United and Orlando Pirates.

Speaking to reporters, Vukusic said: "I didn't know about that [record], but it is good for the club.

"But it is not only about the points, I'm happy that my players played to their potential and they played a very solid season and we broke many records this season and we will see.

"It is possible to get to 50. There are six points left and we will try, but you know we play two good teams in the league.

"We are playing Chippa, who are fighting for survival, and Pirates, who are looking to win the title.

"So it won't be easy, but we will play to our potential and we want to be prepared for those two games and we will see. It has been a good season for the club and we would like to keep it that."

Rise and Shine are next in action in the league against the Chilli Boys on 4 May at the Pietersburg Stadium in Polokwane.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
