Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer has hailed the impact that Deon Hotto has had on the side this season.

The 30-year-old attacker has already contributed with five goals in all competitions as well as a further seven assists to prove his value for the DStv Premiership title-chasing side.

Last season Hotto scored nine times and created five goals for the now defunct Bidvest Wits, and most recently netted in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup in a 3-1 come-from-behind win over Maritzburg United.

As Bucs prepare to face Bloemfontein Celtic in the league on Tuesday, Zinnbauer praised Hotto for his drive and versatility.

He said in the Citizen: "He is always giving opponents a question mark. Nobody can touch him; he is always on fire.

"He works with the ball and without the ball and it’s good for the team. He is not a false number nine, his role in the team is like that of Thembinkosi Lorch."

Zinnbauer added: "Hotto is playing very well as a striker, we are happy that we have him. He scored again and he is always in action in our attack and I think he is the best player for us. He had a top game (against Maritzburg) for the team and himself."
