Cape Town - Mihlali Mayambela, the younger brother of Chippa United forward Mark, has reportedly signed a one-year deal to play for Sporting Clube Farense in Portugal's second tier.

The 21-year-old has been making steady progress in Europe while on the books of Djurgarden in Sweden's Allsvenskan, although the majority of his playing time has come while on loan in the Superettan with Degerfors and Brage respectively.

For the former he netted seven goals in 29 appearances while for the latter he netted twice in 10 appearances.

The forward, who was discovered and developed by Cape Town All-Stars in the National First Division, is said to have put pen to paper on a contract that will last 12 months in the Algarve region of southern Portugal.

Leoes de Faro were promoted from the third division in 2017/18 and are said to have higher ambitions of one day earning promotion into the top flight of Portuguese football.

Prince Arnold Hanson, of DERS Group, confirmed the deal and wished the rising starlet every success in his burgeoning career.

He told Soccer Laduma: "We wish the boy the very best, and hope for great things ahead."
