Johannesburg - Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane has spoken with dismay after Khama Billiat suffered another injury set-back on Saturday.According to the Football411.com website, the Zimbabwe international was forced off after 15 minutes of the Nedbank Cup quarter-final defeat against Orlando Pirates to be replaced by Elias Pelembe.
Mosimane pointed at the lack of player development as the one of the main reasons for the injury troubles that have dogged his side's campaign.
"Khama Billiat's injury is a recurrence," the Sundowns coach told reporters after the match. "I played in Europe; when you are under-14, under-15 you are conditioned to play many games.
"The development here is not the same. In Europe the youngsters have been at that intensity for four or five years. It's obvious that our guys struggle with fatigue.
"In Europe, the kids train before school, after school, they have correct nutrition. By the time they are 22 they are fit.
"We discover players at 22, 24... You can't compare it. Even the referees. Here we just get what we get. No development," he added.
