Cape Town - After a tumultuous few months, Novak Djokovic is eager to get back in that positive frame of mind for the Asian swing of the ATP Tour.

The Serb has endured a rough season of late, battling a personal issue and various injuries.

It came to a point in the US Open final against Stan Wawrinka, where he would lose in a tired effort.

Djokovic admitted that he has been feeling flat since winning his 12th grand slam at the French Open in June.

"To be honest I am looking forward to finding the freshness and peace of mind of enjoying sport and enjoying being on the tennis court," quipped the the world number one on Sky Sports.

"Somehow I lost it along the way after Paris and the French Open. I felt that over the last couple of months it was difficult for me to re-engage myself.

"I had the Olympics Games and I had a couple of injuries. The US Open final was great considering the circumstances before that so it has been a very turbulent period.

"But it's been another great season and it is not over. Now I am looking forward to Asia and competing again, hopefully healthy."

Djokovic is set to feature at the Shanghai Masters from October 9 before he focuses on a fifth consecutive ATP World Tour Finals title.
