Kevin Anderson marches on at Indian Wells Masters

South Africa's Kevin Anderson has reached the third round at the Indian Wells Masters after a 7-6 (9/7), 7-6 (7/3) win over Italian 17th-seed Lorenzo Sonego.

Anderson slammed 10 aces and 31 winners to advance in two hours and seven minutes.

The tall South African will next face French veteran and 14th seed Gael Monfils for a spot in the round of 16.

Meanwhile, South Africa's other singles contestant, Lloyd Harris, is also into the third round at Indian Wells after beating Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 6-3, 6-3 over the weekend.

Ranked 26th for the tournament and 31st in the world, Harris next faces Norwegian sixth seed Casper Ruud.
