SA's Lloyd Harris on a charge at Indian Wells

South Africa's top ranked tennis player, Lloyd Harris has continued his fine form by securing a third round berth at the ATP Indian Wells tournament.

Harris, who reached the quarter-finals of the US Open in September beat Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-3. 

Ranked 26th for the tournament and 31st in the world, Harris will next face a tougher challenge in Norwegian Casper Ruud, the 6th seed at the tournament. 

On Friday, South Africa's other representative in the tournament, Kevin Anderson defeated Australian Jordan Thompson in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.

He will now face world No 69, Italian Lorenzo Sonego.
