South African tennis star Lloyd Harris will contest the main draw of this week's the Dubai Championships after advancing through the qualifying event.
Harris, the world No 81, won two qualifying matches over the weekend to qualify for the ATP 500-level event.
He beat Russia's Teymuraz Gabashvili 6-1, 6-2 and Slovenian Blaz Rola 6-2, 6-4 to get into the main draw where a first-round clash against another qualifier, Australian Christopher O'Connell, awaits.
O'Connell is currently ranked No 122 in the world.
Harris will be expected to beat the Australian but a tough test against top seeded Austrian Dominic Thiem awaits in the second round.
Thiem, the current world No 4 and 2020 US Open champion, has a bye in the first round in Dubai.
