Wimbledon - Kevin Anderson had an expanded support team on hand during his Monday first round Wimbledon win against Spain's Fernando Verdasco on Court 18.

Anderson had the following group in his corner: South African coach Neville Godwin, his wife Kelsey, her parents (it was the first time his father-in-law had attended a match), his mother Barbara (who always makes the London trip), a couple of family friends, and finally a number of representatives from his main sponsor, Srixon.

Anderson added that “it was nice to have so many of his team there.”

Here’s hoping their support ensures Anderson goes deep into this year’s tournament.

Anderson, unseeded at this year's tournament, beat 31st-seeded Verdasco 2-6, 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (10/8), 6-3 to book his place in the second round where he will face Italian Andreas Seppi on Wednesday.

Seppi beat Slovakia's Norbert Gombos 6-2, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in his opening match.
