10 signs he is emotionally abusive

Screen Shot 2016-09-14 at 12.53.41 PM Just because he leaves no bruises on you, doesn’t mean he is not hurting you. Emotional abuse is just as serious as physical abuse. In fact, some psychology experts say it’s worse. Emotional abusers use hurtful words to bring you down and make you feel worthless and constantly seeking their approval. Nothing you do is ever good or enough. This type of psychological violence can cause more damage than you think. In some cases, emotional abuse can also lead to physical abuse, or co-exist with physical abuse. Beware of these red flags:

  1. He’s a blamer. All of his problems are because of his ex or his family. Eventually the blame will turn on you.
  2. He’s resentful and dwells on the injustices in his life.?
  3. He has an entitlement complex. He’s entitled to break the rules. Eventually, he’ll feel entitled to abuse you.
  4. 4. He has a superiority complex. Emotionally abusive people have to feel better than other people, which can play out as competitiveness or self-righteousness.?
  5. He’s petty. Molehills become mountains.
  6. He’s sarcastic. This sort of humour is designed to make others feel bad. Eventually, you’ll be the target.
  7. He’s deceitful. Lying shows that his self-respect and then his respect for you is low.
  8. He’s jealous. Watch out when he gets upset when you speak to other men, complains about you being with friends or family, or constantly asks where you are and regularly checks your phone.
  9. He’s pushy. Men who push for too much too soon can be trouble. Watch out for men who care more about what they want than your boundaries.?
  10. He is controlling. He tells you what to wear and how to behave.
