All day long lasting make-up

Because of the warmth and humidity in summer, make-up doesn’t last all day. Here’s how.

You have to start by taking care of your skin by cleansing, toning and moisturising. You can also apply a primer before foundation to create a protective base.

Foundation

Choose a foundation that is designed for longer wear. Powder-based, anti-ageing and thicker compact style foundations tend to last longer. Apply your foundation 10 minutes after moisturising.

Using a foundation brush or make-up sponge to apply foundation helps it to last longer. Blend the foundation into the skin without rubbing it. To set the foundation, brush loose translucent powder over it. Powder boosts the staying power of your make-up.

Eyes

To help eye make-up stay put throughout the day, apply concealer or foundation and powder on eyelids before applying eye shadow. Use either cream or powder eye shadow, applying it in light layers. Blend it and brush over neutral powder to set it.

Line the eyes with a pencil and lightly, brush powder over the line. Then apply liquid liner, as it has more staying power. Powder the lashes, then apply two thin coats of waterproof mascara. Wait for the first to dry before applying the second.

Cheeks

Choose a cream blusher instead of powder and apply it with your fingers. Lightly brush a layer of bronzer over the blusher.

Lips

Start with foundation. Use a lip-liner that matches your lipstick to line the lips and apply it all over the lips, then follow with loose powder. Apply one layer of long-wearing lipstick, lightly blot with tissue and follow with a second layer or gloss.
